These coins were struck over Spanish Colonial 8 Reales coins, in this case traces on the underlying coin are visible on very close inspection though the date and mintmark cannot be determined as far as I can see.

ESC type A/2 - 1st laurel leaf points to the upright of E in DEI, stop after REX, K in relief under shield on reverse.

A very nice coin with excellent detail. Lightly toned with traces of brilliance. Slight striking flaw to the edge of the coin at 11 o clock on the obverse (1 o clock on the reverse).

Diameter: 40mm, Mintage Weight: 27.0g, Metal: .900 Silver.

The pictures provided are of the actual coin for sale.
